Bosch comes out with table saws for craftsmen

Bosch table saws for wood- and metalworking

Five brand-new table saws from Bosch should set the new standards of performance and precision for wood- and metalworking.

Bosch comes out with a new range of table saws for wood- and metalworking. The new GCM 10 and GCM 12 compound miter saws for classic woodworking differ mainly in the diameter of the saw blade. The powerful 1800 W motor, with its no-load spindle speed of 4,500 rpm, makes the GCM 10 especially powerful and efficient. With its 254 mm tempered metal saw blade, it can make straight cuts on pieces of wood up to 89 mm thick and up to 95 mm wide.

The slightly larger GCM 12 has the same 1800 W motor, a no-load spindle speed of 4,300 rpm and a saw blade diameter of 305 mm. It can handle pieces up to 100 mm thick and 150 wide. The GCM 10 can cut miter up to 49° to both directions; the GCM 12 up to 52°. Both models can also make vertically angled cuts of up to 47°.

Bosch's top of the range compound miter saw – the GCM 10 S – is a panel saw with especially long and precise cuts, thanks to its very stable dual slide rails. With its 1800 W motor and 254 mm saw blade, it is an especially powerful model in its class: on straight crosscuts it can handle a maximum thickness of 87 mm and a maximum width of 305 mm. It can also easily perform miter cuts up to 52° to the left and 62° to the right.

The GTS 10 table circular saw with an 1800 W motor is designed for sawing large pieces of wood such as sheets, boards and planks. Its no-load spindle speed is 3,650 rpm. The GTS 10 also features a very high precision of handling and a large variety of cuts. Carpenters, joiners and cabinetmakers, staircase, exhibition, kitchen and shop fitters will appreciate the large table area with its built-in table extension giving a total working area of 641 mm x 737 mm. With the guide set assembled on the right the saw can handle pieces with a maximum width of 635 mm, assembled on the left the maximum is 330 mm. The 254 mm saw blade can perform straight cuts on pieces of up to 79 mm maximum thickness. The maximum cutting depth of 64 mm at a saw blade angle of 45° puts the saw at the top of its class.

The new Bosch GCO 14-1 metal cut-off saw makes light work of jobs with its 2400 W motor and its no-load spindle speed of 3,900 rpm. The electronically controlled 'SoftStart' feature makes exact and economic cutting of metal pieces easy. The Bosch engineers who developed the GCO 14-1 concentrated especially on its durability and cutting variety, its ease of use and not least its safety. Used with a 355 mm grinding disk, the GCO 14-1 can cut pipes of diameters up to 125 mm; angled cuts of up to 45° are possible.

All the new table saws will be on sale in retail stores from September 2003. We will soon report on more details and the prices of the new Bosch machines at this place.
